Shifting Into Overdrive for Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car at Road America
The third stop of the 2022 Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car season took place on May 20-22 at Road America. For the second time, Forgeline not only sponsored the event, but also had the opportunity to participate, as Forgeline president Dave Schardt competed in the GTV class with his famous 1970 “FN Camaro” Chevrolet Camaro.
Unfortunately, after a best-ever performance in the autocross, the FN Camaro suffered a mechanical failure on the road course which ended Dave’s weekend early. However, the quality of the event, thanks to Optima Batteries events and FM3 Marketing, still made for an enjoyable weekend, despite some mechanical woes for a few participants.
The event proved very successful for a large contingent of Forgeline customers who saw success in their various classes, earned invitations to the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational, or received special recognition. This long list includes:
